Obtenha uma formação de excelência e destaque-se no campo da saúde em um Programa avaliado com nota 6 pela CAPES
The IMIP attracts students and health professionals from across Brazil and abroad to deepen their scientific knowledge, being the first institution in the country to offer postgraduate programs in maternal and child health.
The IMIP’s stricto sensu graduate program originated from Prof. Fernando Figueira’s vision to build a model health sciences school at IMIP—focused on preparing highly qualified professionals with strong theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and ethical attitudes, capable of addressing the health needs of local populations.
Over the years, IMIP has maintained a strong commitment to teaching. It was the first health postgraduate program in Brazil to adopt Problem-Based Learning (PBL). In 2008, the new PBL-based curriculum was implemented, centered on planning, developing, and disseminating research—as a way to train faculty in active pedagogical models and enhance their skills in producing scientific publications.
With the Program’s growth, faculty training extended beyond IMIP’s undergraduate programs. To date, more than 250 master’s and doctorate degrees have been awarded, many to candidates from other Brazilian states who now serve in teaching, research, clinical care, and management roles in compreensive healthcare across the country.
